So many "firsts"...so little time!

Here it is...my first Blog. My first post. The past two weeks have contained many firsts for me. The biggest, of course, is the first daughter! My wife, Elizabeth, and I said hello to our baby Mackenzie for the first time on April 4th at 11:27pm. I looked at my strong wife in a way that I had never looked at her before. She just gave birth!! I have a new-found respect for her.

I held Mackenzie for the first time the next morning and experienced emotions that I think can only be surpassed by God! What a gift...how can one little girl bring so much love and joy to the world?! It must be because God designed her. And then I think of Jesus Christ, and how much love and joy He brought to the world. There's no doubt in my mind that God has fashioned us in His own image.

I've changed poopy diapers, been drooled on, rocked a screaming baby to sleep...and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. I've never seen my wife so happy, and I haven't seen my parents and in-laws this happy in a long time. As my brother, Ryan, said, "God couldn't have timed it any better!"
